Zoom introduces new features within its AI Companion 3.0 and Business Services platform. The updates focus on customer service, sales processes, and work optimization.
During the annual Zoomtopia event, Zoom announces a new version of its AI Companion. New features justify a new version number, and so Zoom adds 3.0 to the name of its AI suite. According to Zoom, it is bringing “proactive agentic AI” to its platform.
Users can employ AI to take notes during meetings, even those held on competing platforms like Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, or automatically schedule tasks. The mission of AI Companion is to help users organize their workday more efficiently.
Digital Colleague
A new Zoomie Group Assistant can answer questions and perform actions on behalf of a team. AI Companion will also generate task lists and help execute them. Zoom is also introducing an AI worksheet that allows users to write, research, and collaborate based on previous conversations and documents.

Those who pay for the Custom AI Companion add-on, twelve dollars per month, will be able to build their own AI agents. Integration with tools such as SharePoint and ServiceNow broadens the contextual knowledge of the AI assistants. Zoom hasn’t forgotten its roots in video meetings and offers photorealistic avatars, real-time translations, and higher video resolution. The AI Companion panel brings latecomers up to speed
All these updates and additions will roll out gradually starting this month. Support for Dutch will follow later.
Give AI your Own Voice
For several years, Zoom has been heavily investing in AI features for contact centers. The Virtual Agent for the Zoom CX platform will soon be able to use your own voice. According to Zoom, this should contribute to a consistent and recognizable customer experience. Contact centers are also getting more sector-specific applications.
Automated Quality Management (AQM) is being added to evaluate and improve customer conversations, both for real people and virtual agents. A dashboard gives supervisors real-time insight into conversations and allows them to intervene if necessary. CX Insights identifies common threads in customer conversations that you can act upon.

Finally, within Zoom Revenue Accelerator, Zoom introduces an AI-driven prospecting assistant. It automatically identifies potential customers and initiates personalized outreach across multiple channels. This functionality will become available in January 2026.
