Tijdens Cisco Live EMEA in Amsterdam heeft Cisco een reeks innovaties aangekondigd die bedrijven moeten helpen om AI-gedreven en steeds autonomer werkende systemen veilig en schaalbaar in te zetten. Met nieuwe beveiligingsoplossingen, een uitgebreid AgenticOps-model en krachtige netwerkinnovaties positioneert het bedrijf zich als infrastructuurpartner voor het ‘agentic tijdperk’.
Security Tools
Central to this is a major expansion of Cisco AI Defense, which aims to give companies more control over AI agents and their interactions with tools, data, and external services. New features include an AI Bill of Materials (AI-BOM) for insight into the AI supply chain, and governance of Model Context Protocol servers. The real-time guardrails are designed to prevent manipulation, prompt poisoning, and unauthorized tool usage. This security extends from development to production and aligns with international AI security frameworks.
Daarnaast introduceert Cisco AI-aware SASE-functionaliteit, waarmee AI-verkeer binnen netwerken niet alleen wordt beveiligd, maar ook geoptimaliseerd. Volgens Cisoc kunnen agentic workflows door AI-traffic-optimalisatie betrouwbaar blijven functioneren, zelfs bij piekbelasting. Dat is nodig nu AI-agenten steeds vaker bedrijfskritische taken uitvoeren in hybride en cloudomgevingen.

Autonomous Agentic Systems
Op operationeel vlak breidt Cisco zijn AgenticOps-strategie verder uit. Dit agent-first IT-model automatiseert netwerk-, security- en observability-taken met behoud van menselijke controle. Nieuwe agentic mogelijkheden maken het volgens Cisco mogelijk om incidenten te analyseren en op te lossen, compliance continu te bewaken en prestaties proactief te optimaliseren, zowel in enterprise-, industriële als serviceprovider-omgevingen. De uitrol start in februari 2026 voor campus-, branch- en industriële netwerken.
Met Splunk Observability Cloud krijgen IT-teams inzicht in het gedrag van AI- en agentic toepassingen, zodat die beter gemonitord en bijgestuurd kunnen worden. Cisco Security Cloud Control richt zich op beveiliging en ondersteunt geautomatiseerd firewallbeheer, continue compliance-controle en het snel oplossen van beveiligingsproblemen. Samen zouden de oplossingen volgens Cisco moeten zorgen voor het proactief verbeteren van prestaties en het beter beheren van risico’s in in enterprise-, industriële, datacenter- en serviceprovider-omgevingen.
AI Agent Monitoring in Splunk Observability Cloud en Cisco Security Cloud Control met agentic firewall- en compliance-functies zijn beschikbaar in mei 2026. De agentic functies voor datacenters zijn beschikbaar in juni 2026, terwijl serviceprovider-functionaliteit via Crosswork AI momenteel in bèta is.
New Chips
The infrastructure is also getting an upgrade. Cisco presents Silicon One G300, a 102.4 Tbps switch chip for AI data centers, and the new Nexus 9000 and 8000 systems with energy-efficient optical innovations. This combination is designed to make AI clusters faster and more sustainable, with better GPU utilization and more efficient energy consumption. The Silicon One G300 will be available later this year.
