In the Netherlands, about 250 physical servers have been seized after it was found that the servers were used for criminal activities.
The Dutch police have seized or taken offline 250 physical and thousands of virtual servers. The servers are believed to belong to a rogue hosting company and were used for criminal activities. The servers originate from The Hague and Zoetermeer and are now being further investigated by the police.
Seized
The Dutch police seized the 250 physical servers to conduct further investigations. The servers were located in The Hague and Zoetermeer. Along with the physical servers, thousands of virtual servers have also been taken offline.

The servers belong to a rogue provider who rented out his space to criminals. From that space, criminal activities could then be carried out unnoticed. This includes ransomware attacks, botnets, or phishing activities.
“Our primary focus is to stop the criminal activities enabled by this company. This prevents new victimization in the short and long term and disrupts the criminal process,” said the Dutch Police in a press release.
