VanRoey acquires Sonical and expands to West Flanders. The company wants to strengthen its expertise in Microsoft solutions, managed services and sector-oriented IT, among other things.
VanRoey strengthens its position as a managed ICT service provider in Belgium with the acquisition of Sonical. With this, the company gains a foothold in West Flanders and further expands its expertise in Microsoft applications and managed services.
Sonical is located in Oostkamp and supports medium-sized and large organizations with digital transformation, mainly via Microsoft Dynamics and managed services. Through the acquisition, VanRoey integrates fifteen additional employees, including co-CEO Olivier Laloo and co-shareholders Frédéric Goossens and Dana Gheorghe. The activities will continue from the existing location on the O-Forty site along the E40.
Three provinces
VanRoey already has an extensive footprint in the province of Antwerp with branches in Turnhout, Geel, Mechelen and Antwerp itself. In Limburg, the ICT specialist is present in Houthalen, where it acquired Group K last year. With the acquisition of Sonical, VanRoey now has a physical foothold in West Flanders.

The acquisition is accompanied by a broadening of the service offering, specifically in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations. Sonical’s expertise in business applications and managed services should strengthen VanRoey’s application division. As a result, VanRoey can support larger organizations in optimizing their financial and operational processes within the Microsoft ecosystem.
Complementary
“With Sonical, we are bringing on board a complementary player that perfectly matches our vision of sector-oriented digitization within the Microsoft ecosystem,” says VanRoey CEO Joachim Lauwers about the acquisition.
Sonical is also satisfied. Co-CEO Olivier Laloo: “By being part of VanRoey, we can offer our customers access to broader expertise and support, while maintaining our own approach, people and local roots.”
After the acquisition, VanRoey has more than 250 employees and the group realizes an annual turnover of approximately 80 million euros. In addition, Sonical brings with it a customer portfolio of more than 60 organizations. The acquisition fits within VanRoey’s broader ambition to further expand its position on the Belgian ICT market.
