Palo Alto is considering acquiring SentinelOne. This is claimed by CTech, but not confirmed by the security company itself. SentinelOne is an Israeli cybersecurity company that has been focusing on AI-driven security solutions since its founding in 2013. Palo Alto is naturally involved in this as well, and AI is currently popular with investors. However, SentinelOne experienced a dip this year, losing twelve percent of its market value.
The company is also being monitored by the U.S. government following the hiring of a former White House security advisor who did not part on friendly terms with current President Donald Trump.
Acquisition after Acquisition
Billion-dollar acquisitions are commonplace in the security sector. Major vendors like Palo Alto regularly acquire smaller players with specific specializations to further expand their portfolio. Palo Alto has just completed the acquisition of Protect AI, another company specializing in AI-driven security. An amount is not mentioned in the official press release.
The company does not want to confirm for now whether it will open its wallet again, possibly to prevent the price of SentinelOne from rising too much. SentinelOne was on the verge of merging with Wiz two years ago, but that deal ultimately fell through. Wiz recently succumbed to Google’s big money.
