The European Commission Allocates 1.2 Billion Euros for the Multi-Annual Work Program to Stimulate the Development of New Technologies in Europe
The European Commission has agreed to fund the 2025-2027 multi-annual work program within the Digital Europe Programme. The EU is allocating 1.2 billion euros for this purpose. The work program focuses on the deployment of AI and its adoption by businesses and government administrations, cloud and data, cyber resilience, and digital skills.

The multi-annual work program within the Digital Europe Programme aims to support the development of technologies in Europe and achieve greater tech sovereignty. The European Commission is making grants available between 2025 and 2027 for this purpose.

“Securing European tech sovereignty starts with investing in advanced technologies and enabling people to improve their digital competencies. With the possibilities of the Digital Europe Programme, we ensure that new technologies – and thus new potential – reach European citizens, businesses, and government services,” says Henna Virkkunen, Executive Vice-President for Tech Sovereignty, Security and Democracy.
1.2 Billion Euros
Specifically, 1,232,726,898 euros will be spent on various technology domains. The largest budget is allocated for the development of artificial intelligence, with an amount of 544.7 million euros, followed by 290.8 million euros for digital solutions. Furthermore, the domains of cybersecurity (44.5 million), High-Performance Computing (43.7 million), Interoperability (81.9 million), and Chips Fund (60 million) also receive tens of millions.
The upcoming tender procedures are expected to be released in April 2025. Companies can then apply to be eligible for the grants.
