Samsung Galaxy S25 Gets Late Addition with FE Device

Samsung launches the Galaxy S25 smartphone and new S11 tablets. With these new products, Samsung aims to bring its Galaxy AI features to a wider audience.

Samsung unveils today the latest addition to the Galaxy S25 series. The S25 smartphones have been out for a while, but for several years now, Samsung has made it a habit to launch a cheaper FE model (Fan Edition) later in the year. The announcement is expanded with the Tab S11 tablets, consisting of an entry-level model and an Ultra model.

S25 FE: Slimmed-Down Flagship

The Galaxy S25 FE is now the fifth member of the S25 family. The device falls somewhere between a mid-range device like the Galaxy A series and a flagship phone like the S25. The new model is a bit thinner and gets a battery upgrade to 4,900 mAh. Samsung adds an 8 MP zoom camera with 3x zoom and the selfie camera is upgraded to 12 MP.

Additionally, Samsung is once again focusing heavily on AI in the announcement. The S25 FE will come with the latest version of the OneUI software, based on Android 16. The software provides access to all AI features included in the Galaxy AI package, from photo and video editing to Now Brief and integrations with Gemini.

Multitasking and Creative Workflows

Samsung also has two tablets in store: the Tab S11 and the Tab S11 Ultra. The tablets aim for mobile productivity with AI integration and a revamped Samsung DeX experience. DeX now allows users to create up to four separate work environments. Gemini is constantly waiting to be called upon for translations, summaries, or other tasks, which can be executed in a floating window.

The top model Tab S11 Ultra features a 3nm processor from its own Exynos line, is only 5.1 mm thick, and can serve as a second screen with an external monitor. Both tablet models are equipped with Dynamic AMOLED 2X screens that offer up to 1600 nits brightness. The accompanying stylus has been renewed for improved writing and drawing functionality.

Prices and Availability

The Galaxy S25 FE is available starting at 749 euros. The Galaxy Tab S11 starts at 899 euros, while the Tab S11 Ultra is available from 1,339 euros. Prices include VAT. All devices will be on sale in the Benelux from September 4.

Both the smartphone and the tablets will receive OS upgrades and security updates for seven years, in line with European regulations. The new devices prove to be not very energy-efficient: the S25 FE gets a B rating, while the tablets fall into the lowest class (G). This means that you can’t buy them with eco-vouchers in Belgium.
