Qnap introduces new models of the NASbook TBS-h574TX: a flash-based network storage solution equipped with up to 19.2 TB of storage.
Qnap refreshes its NASbook TBS-h574TX series. Qnap is now introducing two models to the market, equipped with Qnap-validated E1.S SSDs. The standard capacity of the first model is 9.6 TB; those who need more can consider the variant with 19.2 TB of flash storage.
Qnap markets the solution as a complete package, stating that customers no longer have to worry about drive compatibility. Conversely, this means that upon purchase, you lose the flexibility to choose your own drives. Nevertheless, you can hot-swap the SSDs in the five slots.
Video Editing
The NASbook TBS-h574TX is a compact device, designed with video editors in mind. Its flash architecture theoretically makes the NAS suitable as a station for editing. Qnap therefore also provides two Thunderbolt 4 ports, enabling a direct connection to PCs (Windows and Mac).
Classic NAS functionality is also retained. You connect the NASbook to the network via a 10 GbE or a 2.5 GbE port. QuTS Hero serves as the operating system.
Older CPU
The NASbook is powered by an older Intel Core i5-1235U processor. It is supported by 16 GB of RAM. A version with a Core i3 and 12 GB of RAM also exists.
The CPU choice is surprising. Two years ago, Qnap already launched the first version of this NASbook, which featured a 13th-generation Intel Core processor. For unclear reasons, Qnap is opting for a downgrade to an older chip.
Pricing and availability are unclear, as Qnap links to webshops where this specific configuration is currently nowhere to be found. We have asked Qnap for more information and will add it to this article if we receive more relevant details.
