Lenovo presents the ThinkBook Flip. It’s a laptop concept designed to give users more screen space without increasing the device’s portability. A screen that unfolds backward is the key feature.
As is customary, Lenovo is using MWC 2025 to showcase some original laptop concepts. The ThinkBook Flip is initially a fairly normal 13.1-inch laptop with standard specifications: You get an Intel Core Ultra 7 CPU and 32 GB RAM. However, the Flip conceals considerably more screen space.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Flip has a total 18.1-inch OLED screen that can be unfolded upwards. The laptop essentially resembles an accordion. Start with a classic laptop, and then place an additional hinge at the top of the screen, to which a new equally-sized screen is attached. When you unfold it upwards, you get a tall vertical display. The screen seamlessly extends over the hinge.
Additional Support
When you unfold everything upwards, you encounter stability issues. Lenovo provides a small foot at the bottom to ensure the Flip doesn’t topple over in this mode. You can also position the screen in tent mode. In this case, you can work on your laptop and present as normal, while the person sitting opposite you can follow along. When you close everything, you’re holding a substantial tablet.
The Lenovo ThinkBook Flip is a concept through which Lenovo wants to demonstrate its capabilities and gauge market interest. Therefore, don’t expect to see the Flip on shelves anytime soon.
