Belkin releases a wireless HDMI adapter that can send images from a laptop or smartphone to a display without a physical HDMI cable.
Belkin is adding a wireless ConnectAir HDMI adapter to its range. The product should make it possible to forward an HDMI signal from a device to a screen or projector without the need for a cable between the two. Connection is possible without a network, Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Belkin wants to make screen sharing easier for meeting rooms or shared workplaces with this.
Without cable
According to Belkin, the new HDMI adapter reaches up to 40 meters and is easy to use. The installation takes place without Wi-Fi or a network, and without software. As a result, the resolution remains limited to 1080p at 60Hz in large spaces.

The adapter is compatible with various devices such as laptops, tablets, projectors and smartphones. In addition, up to eight users can share their screen.
Meeting rooms and flexible workplaces
In many offices, HDMI remains a fixed value for presentations. At the same time, cable management often causes frustration. Cables disappear, wear out or do not fit every device. Wireless HDMI solutions try to circumvent that problem with transmitters and receivers that you connect to the source and the display. The user can then switch between devices without having to change cables each time.
The price of the ConnectAir HDMI adapter is not yet known. The product will be available in Belgium soon.
