Asus is unveiling its laptop range for the new year at CES 2025. The standout is the Asus Zenbook A14, which promises up to 32 hours of battery and weighs less than a kilogram.
It’s raining laptops at CES 2025. Today Asus is unveiling its portfolio, with appropriate references to AI and Copilot+. Asus is launching a range of AI PCs and putting the latest processors from Qualcomm, Intel and AMD in them.
32 hours of battery
The Asus Zenbook A14 stands out in two ways. First, because it is the first Copilot+ PC to dip under one kilogram. The device weighs a mere 900 grams. Second, Asus promises that the Zenbook A14 can last up to 32 hours on one full battery charge. That’s three to four working days in which you won’t need to charge your laptop.
The Zenbook A14 is available with Qualcomm Snapdragon X Elite or the cheaper variant and has a starting price of $899. Price for the European market is not specified in the announcement.
Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors are also found in the Vivobook 14/16 and the Vivobook S14/S16. The Vivobook 14/16 promise doubled battery life, according to Asus, although the manufacturer does not put an exact duration on it for these models. Weighing 1.39 kilograms, the Vivobook S14/S16 are not much heavier than the A14 and are said to last up to 24 hours on a full battery. These laptops have a starting price of $799.
Duo with Intel
Asus does not swear exclusively by Qualcomm. Those who prefer AMD Ryzen AI processors have a choice of four models: Zenbook S16 (UM5606KA), Zenbook 14 (UM3406KA), Vivobook S14/S16 (M5406KA / M5606KA) and Vivobook 14/16 (M1407KA / M1607KA). These laptops deliver up to 50 TOPS via the built-in NPU. Prices and availability of these models are not discussed.
Asus also retains faith in Intel, despite the chip manufacturer’ s unimpressive announcement during the CES trade show. The new version of the Zenbook Duo features Intel Core Ultra 9 Series 2. The laptop model is known for its dual 14-inch 16:10 3K touchscreen. The new version also has a larger 75 W battery.
In addition, the Zenbook S16 (UX5606SA), Zenbook 14 (UX3405CA), Vivobook S16 (S5606CA), Vivobook 14 (X1407CA) and Vivobook 16 (X1607CA) can also be found with Intel Core Ultra processors. Asus does not communicate prices and availability of the Intel models.
