Apple has been selling the 27-inch iMac desktop for years, but is suddenly stopping doing so. The product can no longer be found in Apple’s Web store. The 24-inch model, however, remains on sale.
Apple tinkered with the 27-inch iMac on a regular basis. Over the years, for example, the product was fitted with new processors and GPUs.
Apple’s enthusiasm for the large desktop suddenly seems to be at an all time low, now that it was pulled from the web shop without notice. The desktop seems to have given way to the plethora of new products, rather dwarfing the discontinued sales.
27-inch monitor
According to rumors, the iMac desktop has not yet been completely written off at Apple. For months, multiple sources have been claiming that a new all-in-one Mac is in the works. Since no desktop matching the rumors was announced yesterday, the announcement is expected to follow in the summer of 2022.
Apple did surprise everyone yesterday by unveiling a new monitor. The monitor is the same size as the iMac that is now disappearing and features a 5K display.
