Apple introduced its new iMac, with an M4 chip and Apple Intelligence.

As usual, Apple shares news about the Mac every year around the end of October. This time, the company has given the 24-inch iMac an update. The PC gets an M4 chip that Apple says is twice as powerful as its predecessor, containing up to ten CPU and GPU cores.

Apple Intelligence

The computer supports Apple Intelligence that will be available to the general public when the iMac hits the market. The AI-based solution is also coming to Europe. Apple initially refused to comply with the European Digital Markets Act, and did not want to release its AI suite in Europe. What ended up being the deciding factor, we don’t know.

The screen of the new iMac has a built-in webcam with 12 MP and features four Thunderbolt 4 ports. The design is otherwise recognizable and unchanged. After long opposition, the company is moving away from Lightning, and Magic Keyboard, Magic Trackpad and Magic Mouse now get USB-C connectors.

You can pre-order the iMac starting at $1,519. For that price, you get an 8-core CPU, an 8-core GPU, sixteen gigabytes of central memory and 256 gigabytes of storage. You can also opt for the 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU starting at 1,769 euros. The computer is available starting Nov. 8 and comes in seven different colors.
