Windows 11 Users Have Discovered a New Way to Avoid Creating a Microsoft Account
Microsoft wants every user to mandatorily use an internet connection and sign in with a Microsoft account during the installation of Windows 11. Not everyone is a fan of this. An old, popular trick to bypass this recently stopped working. But a new and even simpler method has already been found.
How the New Trick Works
During the installation of Windows 11, you can press Shift + F10 to open a command prompt. Type in:
start ms-cxh:localonly
You will then see a screen, similar to Windows 10, where you can immediately create a local account with your own username and password. You don’t need to set up an internet connection, and the installation continues immediately without restarting.
Why This Is Useful
Since 2022, you can no longer install Windows 11 by default without a Microsoft account. People who value their privacy especially want to skip this step. This new method is faster, easier, and works on the latest test version of Windows 11 (build 26200).
