Apple Intelligence arrives in Europe for iPhone and iPad users

Apple Intelligence is Now Available for iPhone and iPad Users in Europe

At the end of February, Apple Intelligence set foot in Europe with a beta version. macOS users already gained access to the AI suite in Europe in October. Now, the company announces that Apple Intelligence is available for European users as part of the iOS and iPadOS 18.4 release. Additionally, the AI suite is getting a range of languages, with Dutch being the only exception.

Available in Europe, not in Dutch

Apple enthusiasts in Europe can now use Apple Intelligence. It’s important to note that users first need to change the system language and Siri language on their iPhone or iPad, as the AI features do not yet support Dutch.

Apple Intelligence will be enabled by default starting in iOS 18.3 and macOS 15.3

While the AI suite may not be available in Dutch, many other languages are being added to the list, including French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, Chinese (Simplified), and localized English for Singapore and India. These languages are available in almost all regions worldwide.

AI functions

EU users now have access to a range of AI functions within Apple Intelligence. For instance, there’s the option to enable the Writing Assistant, which checks texts for spelling and grammar, but can also rewrite them. Furthermore, the ChatGPT integration in iOS, Genmoji and Image Playground are also available.

Not all iPhones and iPads can benefit from Apple Intelligence. These AI functions are only available on the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max, and iPhone 16 devices. Additionally, iPads and Macs with an M1 chip or newer have access to the AI features.
