Acer puts latest Qualcomm CPUs in new Swift and Aspire laptops

Acer launches two new laptops with Qualcomm ARM CPUs on board: the Acer Swift Spin 14 AI and the Acer Aspire Go 15.

Acer is launching two new laptops on the sidelines of Computex. Both devices embrace Qualcomm as their CPU supplier, but they do so at opposite ends of the spectrum. The Acer Aspire Swift Spin 14 AI is a premium segment device featuring up to a Qualcomm Snapdragon X2 Elite, while the Acer Aspire Go 15 features a chip from the newly announced Snapdragon C range, aimed at absolute entry-level devices.

Swift Spin 14 AI

The Swift Spin 14 AI features a 14-inch touchscreen that can be flipped back. The display has a 16:10 ratio and 1,920 x 1,200 pixels. The device is configurable with 32 GB RAM and 1 TB SSD storage. In addition to a Snapdragon X2 Elite, you can also opt for a slightly lighter X2 Plus processor under the hood. Acer states that the device is up to 1.65 cm thick and weighs 1.34 kg. It is suitable for business use on the go, which Acer guarantees with a MIL-STD-810H test certificate.

Charging is done via USB 4 Type C at up to 100 watts. Acer claims that a fully charged battery allows for 16.5 hours of browsing and 23 hours of video playback.

Aspire Go 15

The Acer Aspire Go 15 is the very first laptop with a Snapdragon C on board. This chip was only recently unveiled by Qualcomm, unfortunately with few details about its exact internals. Acer mainly wants to be the first to announce a laptop with the chip, as details here are also sparse.

We do know that the laptop has a maximum of 8 GB RAM and 512 GB of storage. Since Snapdragon C is intended for true entry-level devices, we consider it likely that configurations with less RAM will appear. The screen diagonal is 15.6 inches with a somewhat dated 16:9 aspect ratio and 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

We do not yet know when the laptop will be available or how much it will cost. Acer will share those details “at a later date.” We already know a bit more about the Acer Swift Spin 14 AI. This device will also be launched in the Benelux in the third quarter of this year. Prices are again missing, but that is not unusual. Given the limited margins on such devices and the volatility of the components market, manufacturers are reluctant to name a specific price too far in advance.
