Acer has presented new products at CES 2025, including the Aspire Vero 16 laptop. That’s a laptop made 70 percent out of oyster shell material. Acer wants to commit to sustainability.

Acer announced new products at CES 2025, including the durable Aspire Vero 16 and the updated Swift Go laptops. Both models are carrying Intel Core Ultra 200H processors and offer a combination of high performance and eco-friendly design, according to Acer.

Aspire Vero 16: A step toward sustainability

Acer claims the Aspire Vero 16 is the world’s first laptop made from organic oyster shell material. More than 70 percent of the chassis is said to be made of recycled plastic and bio-based materials. In addition, Acer emphasizes that the laptop is easy to repair and strives for carbon neutrality. The model features Intel Core Ultra 200H processors and is said to be suitable for various professional applications.

Swift Go Series: For performance and mobility

The updated Swift Go 14 and 16 laptops are positioned by Acer as light but powerful. With options such as 3K OLED and 2K IPS touchscreens and support for Intel Arc graphics performance, these laptops target modern users who prioritize visual quality and AI functionality such as Copilot.

Connectivity Solutions

Acer also introduced the Connect M6E 5G Mobile Wi-Fi and Wave D7 Wi-Fi 7 dongle. These devices are said to offer fast and reliable connectivity, according to Acer. The M6E supports 5G in 135 countries and the Wave D7 promises Wi-Fi 7 speeds of up to 2,880 Mbps.

Availability in Europe is expected from the second quarter of 2025.
