Zoom integrates its virtual agent with Zoom Phone for 24/7 call handling, introduces automated meeting scheduling via AI Companion, and launches Zoom Hub as a central workspace for Zoom content.
Zoom has integrated Zoom Virtual Agent with Zoom Phone. The AI receptionist can independently handle incoming calls, conduct conversations, schedule appointments, and direct callers to the right person. This feature is available 24/7 and replaces traditional menu systems. Companies can set up the receptionist without coding and deploy it in multiple languages, helping to ensure no calls are missed.
Virtual Receptionist
The virtual receptionist understands the purpose of the call and handles it immediately. Only when necessary is an employee involved. Zoom is targeting this feature at sectors such as healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and financial services. For example, a healthcare facility can assist patients outside opening hours or a store can automatically answer customer inquiries.

Companies train the AI by uploading relevant documents or websites. The receptionist processes this information and uses it when answering questions. Support is available in English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, and Japanese.
Meeting Scheduling
In addition to the AI receptionist, Zoom is expanding its AI Companion to meeting scheduling. The digital assistant plans meetings completely autonomously. It takes into account calendars and time zones, sends invitations, tracks responses, and automatically suggests an alternative time if needed. This way, Zoom aims to reduce back-and-forth emails about scheduling.
Zoom Hub
Additionally, the company introduces Zoom Hub. This is a central workspace within Zoom Workplace where users can manage recordings, summaries, whiteboards, and documents. AI Companion helps here with creating and organizing content. Users get quick access to meeting-related files and can use AI to start new documents or presentations.

Zoom reports that these features are available to paying users of Zoom Workplace at no additional cost. The AI functions use, among others, GPT-5 from OpenAI.
