Microsoft launches a ‘roadmap’, so customers now know when to expect which features.
Microsoft has launched an official timeline for Windows 11. It shares this in a blog. With this, the tech giant aims to better communicate which features are on the way, when they can be expected, and in which phase of rollout they are. According to Microsoft, there is a high demand for more transparency, especially among IT administrators who want to prepare their systems for changes in a timely manner.

The new website shows which improvements are currently being tested in the Windows Insider Program, which are being gradually rolled out, and which are fully available through regular updates. The site also allows filtering by Windows version, device type, and distribution channel. Those who want to activate new features before they are enabled by default will also find clear instructions.
The timeline is currently only focused on Windows 11 on client devices, as that’s where most of the innovation is taking place at the moment. Microsoft says it is open to suggestions from users to further improve the content and functionality of the platform. If there is sufficient demand, the timeline could be expanded to other Windows products and devices in the future.
It is not yet known when the timeline, or roadmap, will be finalized.
