Windows 11 has released an Insider update in which the battery icon gets more colors and becomes larger and more intuitive.
The battery icon in the Windows 11 taskbar will soon get a revamped look. The icon now lacks some color and could have been larger. Microsoft is releasing a fix for that, Tom’s Hardware knows.
Subtle changes
Chances are, the battery icon on your smartphone is clearer than on your PC. This is strange because a computer screen has a much larger resolution. So it makes no sense that the icon is displayed so small.
Thanks to the new update, the icon turns orange when the power saving feature is on, and green when the battery is charging. It also gets more pixels that provide better scaling. That change happens both in the Start bar, the quick menu and the Settings app. In addition, the enormously small plug icon has been replaced with a clearer and larger lightning bolt icon. That is now centered above the battery.
Finally, there are also updates in the labels of the usage graph. When the update will be rolled out generally Microsoft has not yet announced.
