New Copilot+ features, smarter settings, and better tools are rolling out this month.
This summer, Microsoft is launching a July update for Windows 11 packed with AI features. Many of the new elements have been in preview for a while but are now being widely released. Some will initially only work on Copilot+ PCs.
Smarter Settings Thanks to AI Agent
The biggest change is in the settings menu. Users can now search using natural language (“how do I change my screen resolution?”), a form of semantic search. Windows automatically executes the search thanks to a built-in AI agent. If something doesn’t work, the system will point you in the right direction.
For now, this feature only works on Qualcomm Snapdragon chips. Support for Intel Core Ultra 2 and AMD Ryzen AI 300 will follow later.
Click-to-Do and Copilot Communicate with each Other
Click-to-Do is becoming more extensive and now communicates with Copilot and the new Reading Coach app. For example, you can click on a text block and choose to have it read aloud, practice with it, or automatically rewrite it in Copilot. The context determines what is possible. Paint simultaneously receives two upgrades: an AI tool to generate stickers (for those who find it useful), and a much more useful feature: Object Select, which allows you to quickly cut an element out of an image.
Small Upgrades, Big Promises
The snipping tool gets an AI feature to automatically align screenshots nicely. The photo “s app on Snapdragon X-PCs” now offers Relight, allowing you to adjust light sources afterward. Microsoft is also working under the hood: the number of crashes has decreased by 22 percent compared to version 22H2.
