WhatsApp is adding several new calling features for desktop and mobile.
Ahead of the holiday season, WhatsApp is announcing enhanced features for calling via WhatsApp. For example, you can select callers from a group chat if you want to call only certain people. In addition, WhatsApp not only improves the quality of video calls, but also makes video calling easier via desktop.

“The popularity of calling via WhatsApp continues to grow worldwide. More than 2 billion calls are now made via WhatsApp every day,” the company said in a blog post. WhatsApp is adding new calling features to its application. For example, users will now be able to select call participants. “When you now start a call from a group chat, you can select specific participants. This way you call only the people you want and leave others alone,” the company said.

Furthermore, calling on desktop will now be able to perform better. If you go to the Calls in the WhatsApp desktop app, you will immediately be shown everything needed to start a call, create a call link or dial a number directly.
