Along with the news surrounding the Taulia acquisition, CEO Christian Klein said he is looking at collaborations within the metaverse.

The term “metaverse” is hot among technology companies and everyone wants a piece of it, despite no one really knowing what it is. In an interview with Reuters, SAP’s CEO says he sees a lot of interesting B2B opportunities within the metaverse. He is therefore looking for collaborations to think out scenarios.

“You can expect an announcement soon regarding what SAP wants to do within the metaverse,” he concludes mysteriously.

The metaverse ambitions were linked to the news surrounding the acquisition of U.S. Fintech company Taulia for less than $1 billion. German SAP is open to more acquisitions if they fit within its portfolio, the CEO said.

Finally, SAP also shared along with the quarterly figures its ambition to have cloud sales between 11.55 billion and 11.85 billion euros by 2022. In 2021, cloud sales accounted for 9.42 billion euros.
