Owners of a Google Pixel are experiencing connectivity issues after installing the latest software update, both older models and the latest Pixel 9.

December’s security update created lumps on Pixel phones. Mobile connectivity problems are being reported through several channels. The phones lose connectivity completely, though calls continue to work. It is unclear how widespread the problem is, but it affects older Pixel models as well as the very latest Pixel 9 Pro.

There are two possible ways to solve the problem. A first way is to reset the mobile network settings. This does cause saved WiFi networks and Bluetooth devices to be erased along with it, and thus need to be reset. If that doesn’t solve the problem, you can disable 4G/VoLTE calls.

Google has not responded to the problem for now, so a fix does not seem to be imminent. Pixel phones were recently switched to Android 15, and its successor Android 16 is already in the pipeline. Find out if your phone is eligible for the latest version here.
