Microsoft has announced that it is rolling out an option to share files between an iPhone and Windows PC via the Phone Link and Link to Windows applications.
Following the addition of iMessage and iPhone calling in Windows 11, Windows Insiders will soon have the ability to easily share files between their iPhone and Windows PC. Microsoft has begun rolling out this capability, and sharing can be done through the Phone Link and Link to Windows applications. It has been possible for Android phones for some time.
Sharing files
To share a file from your iPhone to a PC, go to File, Share, and then Pair to Windows. Then you select the device you want to share the file with. You can also share a file with an iPhone, then right-click on files to share and select My Phone.
The Phone Link application is gaining popularity. Recently, Samsung discontinued support for the DeX application to transition users to Phone Link. Thus, Phone Link seems to be becoming a universal solution for file sharing.
When the feature will be made available to all users is not known.
