LinkedIn’s writing aid appears to be not as popular as thought, according to LinkedIn’s CEO. According to him, this is related to your professional reputation.
LinkedIn and AI are now inseparable. The platform has already embraced AI in various ways: for job searching, expanding networks or to take over routine tasks of recruiters. Recently, LinkedIn also received a new writing aid for messages, although this assistant is not as popular as expected, CEO Ryan Roslansky told Bloomberg in an interview.
LinkedIn and AI
Roslansky sees the AI wave coming over the membership base. “In the past year, there has been a 6x increase in roles requiring AI-related skills.” Moreover, the number of users adding AI skills to their profiles has increased 20-fold.

LinkedIn launches AI-driven search function for job seekers
Although LinkedIn offers various AI functions for job seekers and recruiters, the new writing assistant for LinkedIn messages doesn’t appear to be as popular. This writing aid won’t completely rewrite your message, but with one push of a button, AI can give you some suggestions to improve the text.
Online CV
Roslansky provides an explanation for why this feature doesn’t seem to be so popular. “The barrier is much higher” to post on LinkedIn. This is because the platform is often seen as your “online CV”.
“If you’re called out on X or TikTok, that’s one thing,” he added. “But if you’re called out on LinkedIn, it really impacts your ability to create economic opportunities for yourself,” he explains.
