HP expands Workforce Experience Platform with firmware-level remote access and new insights

HP is further expanding its Workforce Experience Platform (WXP) with new features for device and print management, collaboration, and monitoring. The updates are designed to better support IT teams in hybrid environments and, according to HP, make WXP the only multi-vendor platform that combines out-of-band and in-band remote access within a single solution.

Management at firmware level

HP is adding Out-of-Band Remote Connect to WXP. This allows IT administrators to manage PCs at the firmware and BIOS level via Intel vPro systems, even when the operating system no longer starts. This is in addition to the existing In-Band Remote Connect, which allows support staff to remotely assist users within the running OS. By combining both forms of remote access, organizations can recover faster from critical incidents and limit downtime.

WXP also gets extended print management. IT teams can now monitor multi-vendor printers and manage HP FutureSmart 5 enterprise printers from the same dashboard as PCs and collaboration tools. This reduces the number of management tools and provides a better overview of the entire device ecosystem. WXP Print Management subscriptions are expected in the Benelux at the end of 2026.

Insights into meeting rooms and collaboration

With WXP Collaboration Technology Insights, IT teams gain near real-time visibility into the performance of meeting rooms and connected audio and video equipment. The new Collaboration Space Insights combine data on space usage, technology, and occupancy via IoT sensors. This allows organizations to invest more effectively in meeting rooms and huddle spaces.

Finally, HP introduces Custom Alerts, which allow administrators to set their own notifications and escalation thresholds at the device or fleet level. Alerts can automatically disappear once a problem is resolved and are shared via the platform, email, or Microsoft Teams.
