Google launches Gemini 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber for faster, cheaper AI agents and cybersecurity.
Google is launching three new models in its Gemini family: 3.6 Flash, 3.5 Flash-Lite, and 3.5 Flash Cyber. The models are designed to help developers make AI agents work faster, cheaper, and more reliably. The new models build on Gemini 3.5 Flash and are primarily focused on agent-based workflows at scale. According to Google, it’s all about a combination of efficiency, low latency, and consistent performance.
3.6 Flash and 3.5 Flash-Lite
Gemini 3.6 Flash is intended to serve as a workhorse for coding, knowledge work, and multimodal tasks. According to the Artificial Analysis Index, the model consumes 17% fewer output tokens than 3.5 Flash, and in certain benchmarks like DeepSWE, this even reaches up to 65% fewer. Google combines this with a lower price: $1.50 per million input tokens and $7.50 per million output tokens.
3.5 Flash-Lite, on the other hand, is the fastest model in the 3.5 series, with 350 output tokens per second. It is intended for low-latency, high-throughput tasks such as searches (by agents) and document processing. With a price of $0.30 per million input tokens and $2.50 per million output tokens, Google presents it as a cost-effective alternative. The model even outperforms the larger 3 Flash on various benchmark tests, according to Google.
The two models are available immediately via the API and the Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform. Gemini 3.6 Flash is also coming to the Gemini Enterprise App, and 3.5 Flash Lite to the Gemini App and Google Search.
3.5 Flash Cyber for cybersecurity
The third model, 3.5 Flash Cyber, is specifically tuned for detecting and remediating vulnerabilities in code. The model works within CodeMender: a Google tool for code security, where multiple Flash Cyber agents work together to produce a combined report. This model will not be available to everyone. Google will share it with partners via CodeMender, and with governments. This once again highlights the impact the US government in particular has on the rollout of AI today.
