Google Drive Now Lets Users Edit Videos with Google Vids

Paying users can edit videos with Google Vids in Drive.

Google gives users the ability to edit videos directly in Drive via Google Vids in the browser itself.

When you view a video in Google Drive and click the Open button, the video opens in Google Vids. This is Google Workspace’s AI-powered video creation tool. With it, you can trim the video, add text and music, and edit other elements. The AI model Veo is also available in the app, Google writes in a support page. This was made generally available late last year and allows users to generate videos up to one minute long based on text prompts.

Editing video “s only works in supported browsers, such as the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox and Microsoft Edge. Other browsers may also work, but compatibility varies. In terms of extensions, MP4, Quicktime, OGG, and WebM video” s are supported that are at most 35 minutes long and smaller than 4 GB.

Only for Paying Users

The feature is currently only available to paying users with Workspace Business and Enterprise subscriptions. Users of Gemini Education, Gemini Education Premium, Google AI Pro and Ultra also have access. The feature is gradually rolling out to all paying users.
