Figma is now available in Google Chat. The integration allows users to receive notifications and respond to design updates without leaving their chat environment.
Figma is expanding its partnership with Google by launching an integration with Google Chat. This allows users to follow and respond to notifications about design files directly within their chat environment. The expansion is part of the existing Figma for Google Workspace add-on.
With the new integration, users receive notifications about invitations to files, projects, and teams. Google Chat also displays a preview of Figma files in notifications and group conversations. Additionally, users can see new comments and mentions in files they follow. It is possible to reply to Figma comments directly from Chat.
Expansion of existing add-on
With the Figma for Google Workspace add-on, users could already embed Figma files in Google Docs and collaborate in real time via Google Meet. Now, Chat is being added to the mix, enabling users to collaborate even more effectively within the Google Workspace environment.

As a result, teams need to switch between different applications less frequently. Designers, developers, and other stakeholders can follow updates and provide feedback directly from their chat window.
Installation
Administrators can centrally install the Figma app for their organization via the Google Workspace Marketplace. End users need a Figma account to use the integration.
Those who have already installed the add-on in Docs or Meet will automatically get access to Figma in Chat. Users without an account can search for the app in Google Chat via ‘New Chat’ and ‘Find apps’, after which they can install the add-on via the Marketplace.
