Google Drive adds “Catch Me up” function for faster file updates

Catch me up Google Drive

Google Workspace users will now receive a summary of changes in files since their last visit via the new “Catch me up” feature.

Google is expanding the functionality of Gemini in Google Drive with a new feature: “Catch me up”. This allows end users to quickly catch up on what has changed in their files since they last opened them. The feature provides an overview of changes in Google Docs, comments in Spreadsheets, and modifications in Presentations. “Catch me up” is being gradually rolled out starting June 3, 2025, and is available for specific editions of Google Workspace.

Catch me up

Users will find “Catch me up” at the top of their Google Drive home page. Clicking on it will provide an overview in the Gemini side panel. For specific files, an activity icon indicates if there have been changes since the last access. Users can click this icon or choose the “Catch up” option via the selection bar.
