Microsoft Edge 136 is being rolled out with the new Copilot AI appearing on the new tab page.

Copilot will soon be visible on the Microsoft Edge New Tab Page (NTP), as noted by Windows Latest. “From the end of May 2025, users will be able to see suggested work and productivity-related Copilot prompts in their search box on the NTP page”, according to the updated Microsoft support page. Additionally, users will be able to send their search query directly to Copilot by clicking on the new Copilot button in the search box.

From the end of May 2025, users will see Copilot prompts when using the search box in a new Microsoft Edge tab. Once you click on one of these suggestions, Copilot will open with the prompt ready to use. Additionally, the Copilot icon will also appear next to the search box. Clicking on the icon will send your current search query to Copilot.

However, Windows Latest did not yet notice this in the ‘live browser’, but discovered that the option can be enabled via Edge’s built-in “flags”. If you want to explore this feature yourself already, type Edge://flags into Microsoft Edge. Various flags will appear, including ‘Edge Copilot-Mode’ and ‘Allow Copilot search’. To activate the features, you need to restart the browser.
