Claude can now connect with multiple apps

Anthropic’s AI chatbot Claude can now connect with various apps, including Atlassian’s Jira and Asana. The company is also expanding the research capabilities of its deep research feature.

Anthropic introduces a new way to connect its AI chatbot Claude with other apps and tools. Additionally, the company is launching a ‘deep research’ capability that can retrieve information from the internet, Google Workspace, and other integrations. The new features are now available in beta on Max, Team, and Enterprise subscriptions and will soon be available on Pro.

Integrations

‘Integrations’ is the name of Anthropic’s Claude’s new functionality. It’s a continuation of the Model Concept Protocol (MCP) launched last November. This is an open standard that connects AI apps with tools and data. Until today, this support was limited to Claude Desktop via local servers. With the introduction of ‘Integrations’, Claude can now seamlessly collaborate with external MCP servers via web and desktop apps.

There’s a choice of integrations for ten services, including Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence, Cloudflare, Asana, and PayPal. “With access to Atlassian’s Jira and Confluence, Claude can collaborate with you on building new products, managing tasks more effectively, and scaling your work by summarizing and creating multiple Confluence pages and Jira work items simultaneously,” according to the company. In the video below, Anthropic demonstrates how this works.

Research expanded

In addition to the new integrations, Anthropic introduces improvements to its recently launched research feature. According to the company, “Claude can now conduct in-depth research across hundreds of internal and external sources and deliver more comprehensive reports in five to 45 minutes.”

Moreover, Anthropic is expanding Claude’s data access. Previously, the research tool relied on the web and Google Workspace; now, thanks to the new integration feature, Claude will also be able to search in connected integrations. The company emphasizes transparency, with the AI bot referencing original material for clear citations.

The new ‘integrations’ and ‘advanced research’ features are now available in beta on Max, Team, and Enterprise subscriptions and will soon be available on Pro. Web searching is now globally available for paid subscriptions.
