The memory function in Anthropic’s Claude chatbot is now available to all paying subscribers.

Last month, Anthropic launched a memory function for its Claude chatbot. This feature allows the chatbot to remember previous conversations and thus respond to someone’s preferences or better understand the context of projects. Anthropic is now rolling out an upgrade, making the feature available to all paying subscribers and enabled without prompting.

The memory function was already available for Team and Enterprise subscribers, but is now also expanding to users with a Pro and Max subscription.

Larger Memory

The memory function in Claude was initially available to Team and Enterprise users. Now, Anthropic is rolling out an upgrade that applies to all paying subscribers, including Pro and Max subscribers. Via the settings menu, users can enable the ‘Generate memory of chat history’ function by default, so that the Claude chatbot automatically remembers conversations.

Claude Gets Memory to Remember Previous Chat Conversations

“Whether you’re iterating on a strategy proposal, troubleshooting a problem, or managing multiple projects, Claude picks up where you left off. Like Team and Enterprise users, you get project-scope memory (each project has its own separate memory), full control to view and edit what Claude remembers, and incognito chat for conversations that aren’t saved to memory,” the update reads.
