Adobe is rolling out yet another new batch of AI and editing tools for Photoshop and After Effects.
Adobe introduces new updates for Photoshop and After Effects that should speed up editing with new adjustment layers, improved generative tools and smart text features.
More control
Photoshop gets three new adjustment layers: Clarity, Dehaze, and Grain. These work non-destructively and are fully maskable. Clarity allows users to enhance details and sharpness, Dehaze helps correct haze and tricky lighting situations, while Grain adds extra texture and depth. The layers make it possible to work more precisely without affecting the original image.
Dynamic text in beta
In the new beta, Adobe introduces Dynamic Text. This allows text layers to be converted into circular, arc, or curved shapes with a single click. Photoshop automatically adapts the text to the chosen path, eliminating the need for manual editing.
After Effects gets support for importing SVG files, which makes for an easier workflow with Illustrator. In addition, Adobe introduces 3D parametric meshes, allowing users to build photorealistic objects and graphic elements directly in After Effects, such as cubes, spheres, and cylinders.
Improved generative tools
The Firefly-powered features Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and the Remove Tool deliver results up to 2K resolution with sharper details and fewer artifacts. Reference Image for Generative Fill has also been expanded, so that objects better match scale, perspective, lighting, and color.
The updates are now available in Photoshop for desktop. The Firefly improvements are also being rolled out to the web version of Photoshop.
