Palo Alto Networks Introduces Prisma SASE 4.0 with Browser Security

The latest version of Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma SASE stops attacks directly in the browser and uses artificial intelligence to automatically recognize and secure sensitive data.

Palo Alto Networks has introduced Prisma SASE 4.0. The new version of the platform includes Prisma Browser, a functionality that detects and blocks malicious scripts and malware directly in the browser. This turns the browser itself into a security layer, an approach that the company claims works better against modern threats than traditional security measures.

For many organizations, the browser is the gateway to cloud applications and AI tools. According to Palo Alto Networks, standard browsers are no longer sufficient to protect sensitive business data. Prisma SASE 4.0 aims to fill that gap.

AI for Data Classification

A second key addition is an AI-driven module for data classification. It automatically recognizes sensitive information, even when it comes to unstructured data or data currently in use. The system works with more than 140 pre-trained models and can be adapted to specific business needs. According to the company, the number of false positives decreases by a factor of ten compared to traditional methods.

In addition, the security of private applications also gets an update. Prisma SASE 4.0 automatically adjusts security rules when the underlying applications change. This provides better protection for dynamic business apps against targeted attacks that bypass traditional firewalls.

The new features are part of a broader update of the Prisma SASE platform. It will be available later this year.
