Qnap launches the QSW-L3208-2C6T: a managed network switch with full 10GbE support targeting creative professionals, small offices, and SMEs.

The switch offers eight ports, management features such as VLAN and QoS, and user-friendly configuration via Qnap’s QSS platform.

10GbE Bandwidth

The QSW-L3208-2C6T is Qnap’s first managed switch with eight ports, including six 10GbE Multi-Gig RJ45 ports and two SFP+/RJ45 combo ports. All ports support 10GbE, providing a total switch capacity of 160 Gbps. With support for Multi-Gigabit speeds (10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M) via standard Cat6a cables, users can run bandwidth-intensive applications such as video editing or backups.

The SFP+/RJ45 combo ports allow for both fiber and copper connections, depending on the environment. The switch also supports jumbo frames up to 12K bytes, facilitating large file transfers. Additionally, IGMP Snooping enables efficient multicast, ideal for applications with multiple video streams like NVRs or media centers.

Management without Complex Setup

The QSW-L3208-2C6T is a managed switch. This means users can apply some advanced network settings without the complexity of a full Layer 2 switch. For example, the switch supports LACP for bandwidth aggregation up to 40 Gbps, which is useful when combining multiple connections to a Qnap NAS.

With QoS, network traffic can be optimized for specific applications such as VoIP, streaming, and backup. VLAN functionality allows for network segmentation to enhance security. All settings are managed through the Qnap Switch System (QSS), which is compatible with Qfinder Pro for detection, configuration, and management. Firmware updates can be performed online.

The switch is designed as a desktop model with a fan-cooled enclosure. This targets users seeking a compact solution for a fast and manageable network without expensive infrastructure investments.
