The most notable change is the integration of PowerProtect with Dell NativeEdge. NativeEdge is also a software platform, but for managing infrastructure at edge locations. Together, both platforms form a solution for cyber resilience in edge environments. The combination aims to simplify management and improve security of distributed environments.
Dell also adds a new Anomaly Detection page. It combines anomalies from various data sources into a single overview. Teams can more quickly see where problems arise and respond faster to suspicious activity.
Nutanix and Azure
PowerProtect also receives more extensive support for Nutanix environments via Prism Central – Nutanix’s own management platform. IT teams can thus control backups and recovery processes more centrally, even when applications run across hyperconverged infrastructure.
Additional storage options become available within the portfolio. The Archive to Object function now also supports workloads in Microsoft Azure. Organizations can use this to store data long-term at lower costs.
Cloud Capacity
Dell also announces that it has further expanded its Data Domain Operating System. The cloud capacity on Azure increases to 384 TB and support for AWS M7i instances is added. Cyber Recovery and CyberSense also receive an update. They can now restore HYCU backups and offer centralized management of multiple isolation environments.
The new PowerProtect updates are available.
