Since last night, Outlook has been experiencing an outage; It affects Outlook.com, the app and the desktop client. Microsoft itself has announced this. The outage prevents users from accessing their mailbox, regardless of how they try to connect.
Solution in the Works
The engineers from Redmond have found the issue and are working on a solution, which according to Microsoft is taking shape faster than anticipated. Microsoft hopes and expects that everything will be functional again around noon.
The impact of the problem is unclear. The issue doesn’t seem to affect everyone. In the US there are quite a few reports, but problems have also been reported in Belgium and the Netherlands since this morning. The outage is therefore being felt worldwide.
Microsoft is not communicating any temporary solution. Those experiencing problems with their Outlook mailbox will need to be patient a while longer.
