Qnap launches a new cloud subscription that brings together NAS backups and object storage in one shared storage environment with fixed pricing structure.
Qnap has launched myQnapcloud One. MyQnapcloud One is a cloud storage service that merges two existing solutions into one subscription. Users get access to cloud storage for NAS backups and to S3-compatible object storage, without separate contracts or fixed capacity allocation. The available storage space can be deployed flexibly, depending on usage.
One price
myQnapcloud One combines myQnapcloud Storage, focused on backups of Qnap NAS systems, with myQnapcloud Object for object storage. The main principle of myQnapcloud One is the pricing structure. Subscriptions start from 1 TB storage, to be distributed at will between Storage and Object.
Qnap charges no additional costs for data transfer or API requests. This should ensure predictable costs, which is particularly relevant for businesses with varying storage needs.

The cloud environment supports object locking, preventing data from being modified or deleted for a specified period. This helps protect against ransomware and human errors. The feature is also relevant in the context of legal requirements in healthcare and the financial sector, among others.
Integration with NAS
Connection with Qnap NAS systems is naturally central to the offering. myQnapcloud One also serves as an external backup destination, with centralized management of backup tasks and recovery processes. For NAS backups, the service offers additional capabilities, such as tracking user activities for up to 180 days, version management for up to 100 file versions, and file sharing with expiration dates.
Qnap uses thirteen data centers worldwide for the service, including sites in Europe. When requesting a subscription, you must select a region. According to the company, the infrastructure thus complies with international standards for data protection and privacy.
myQnapcloud One is available through monthly and annual subscriptions. A monthly subscription starts from $8.39 per month for 1 TB storage. With an annual subscription, the effective monthly price decreases. Qnap applies a fair use policy that aligns system resource usage with the total storage volume of an account.
