Copilot for Windows Adds Document Creation and Integrates with Outlook and Gmail

Microsoft copilot

Copilot for Windows will soon be able to create documents and perform actions in Gmail and Outlook.

Microsoft is expanding its Copilot app for Windows with new features that further deepen the use of AI in daily workflows. The update makes it possible to create Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and PDF documents directly from a chat window.

Create Documents from a Conversation

With the new feature, users can type a prompt, and Copilot will automatically generate a complete document from it. “With just one command, you can transform ideas, notes, and data into shareable and editable documents,” explains the Copilot team. For longer responses exceeding 600 characters, an export button appears, allowing you to directly forward the text to Word, PowerPoint, Excel, or PDF.

Integration with Gmail and Outlook

In addition to document creation, Copilot also gains deep integration with email and cloud accounts. Users can link their Outlook or Gmail account, giving Copilot access to emails, contact details, and attachments. Subsequently, you can ask questions such as “Show all invoices from company X in my inbox” or “What is Joachim’s email address?” The feature is entirely optional and requires explicit consent.

The update is currently being rolled out gradually to Windows Insiders via the Microsoft Store.
