Cisco integrates agentic AI into Splunk Observability, allowing organizations to monitor and manage digital systems more proactively.
During an event in Boston, Cisco announced the expansion of Splunk Observability with agentic AI technology. The new functionalities enable IT and engineering teams to detect incidents faster, analyze causes, and recommend solutions. This update is part of Cisco’s broader AgenticOps vision.
The improvements include AI Troubleshooting Agents within Splunk Observability Cloud and AppDynamics, which automatically analyze incidents and indicate probable causes. Additionally, Splunk IT Service Intelligence offers automated correlation of alerts to reduce noise and clarify incident context. You automatically receive an overview of grouped alerts, including trends, impact, and suspected causes.
Splunk also focuses on the observability of AI systems. New analytics tools allow companies to monitor the performance, security, and cost-efficiency of AI agents and large language models. For example, AI Infrastructure Monitoring alerts to capacity issues or peak usage in AI infrastructure.
One Platform for Application, Infrastructure, and Network Observation
Cisco integrates various observability components into a single entity. Splunk AppDynamics and Splunk Observability Cloud are brought together to support both traditional three-tier environments and microservices. The integration with Cisco ThousandEyes is also deepened, allowing teams to link network issues to application performance and user experiences more quickly.
New features include Business Insights and Digital Experience Analytics, which allow companies to monitor business processes and user behavior in real-time, respectively. Other additions include session replays for browser and mobile users and a new agent based on OpenTelemetry, which can collect data for observability platforms in Splunk.
Several features, such as AI Agent Monitoring, Episode Summarization, and integrations with ThousandEyes, are currently in an alpha testing phase. Other improvements are now available worldwide. Cisco also announces an integration between Snowflake and Splunk to connect and integrate data for smoother analysis.
