Visma strengthens its position in the healthcare sector with the acquisition of HealthConnected, a provider of digital information systems for general practitioners and healthcare networks.
Visma has acquired HealthConnected, a provider of digital solutions for primary care. The organization offers systems for general practices, out-of-hours GP services, and network care. Within Visma, HealthConnected will be incorporated alongside other healthcare-focused companies such as Ecare, Therapieland, SureSync, Esculine, and ZorgDomein. Paul Witteman, founder and director of HealthConnected, emphasizes that HealthConnected will continue to operate independently with its own products, teams, and partnerships.
Scalable Digitalization
The acquisition aims to contribute to faster and more scalable digitalization of healthcare. General practitioners and their information systems are seen as a crucial link in this process. HealthConnected and ZorgDomein are already collaborating on Boards, a digital solution for chain and network care. This collaboration can now be further deepened. Through better integrations and cooperation between systems, Visma aims to increase efficiency in the healthcare sector.
Independence
Despite the acquisition, HealthConnected will continue to operate independently, with its own products, teams, and partnerships. At the same time, the company gains access to software knowledge, security expertise, and support from the broader Visma network.
According to founder Paul Witteman, the acquisition aligns with the ambition to develop the platform more rapidly. Visma expects that the collaboration will enable new steps in creating a scalable ecosystem for primary care.
According to Paul Simoons of ZorgDomein, who joins the board of HealthConnected on behalf of Visma, this step offers opportunities to further expand existing integrations. The collaboration should lead to better functioning digital chains within healthcare. This benefits not only healthcare providers and patients but also current partners of both companies.
