Belgian data platform Peliqan expands to the United States

Peliqan is launching operations in the US and will now offer data exchange and data sovereignty solutions on both European and American servers.

The Ghent-based data platform Peliqan is expanding to the United States. The startup welcomed its first American customer, Lexington Medical. Thanks to new server infrastructure on American soil, Peliqan now offers data-sovereign solutions for organizations in both Europe and the US.

First American steps

Peliqan has developed a data platform that brings together data from various sources via more than 250 connectors, such as Exact Online, Odoo, Salesforce, and Netsuite. SMEs use the platform to centralize fragmented data, structure it, and prepare it for analysis via tools such as Excel and Power BI.

The startup currently has more than 40 partners in 15 countries and supports some 2,000 end customers worldwide. Examples of partners include Norway’s Sparebank and Belgium’s Vandelanotte.

Relative simplicity is one of the platform’s great assets, targeting SMEs without specialized data teams. In an interview with ITdaily, Peliqan explained this approach in more detail. At the time, the company stated its ambition to become the leading European data player. With this expansion, its ambitions seem to be even higher.

Peliqan is currently supporting the expansion into the US entirely remotely, but there are plans to open a physical office in 2026. The arrival of American server infrastructure makes it possible to offer data sovereignty, where data is processed locally in accordance with regional regulations.

Compliance

To better serve American customers, Peliqan obtained the SOC 2 Type II certificate last year. This standard is crucial in the US for organizations that have requirements for information security and data processing. In Europe, ISO 27001 remains the standard norm.
