Nopan raises 7.2 million euros to accelerate payment systems such as Wero

Nopan has raised 7.2 million euros in capital in a new investment round. The company offers support for account and wallet payment methods in Europe, such as Wero.

Amsterdam-based fintech Nopan has raised 7.2 million euros in growth capital. This took place during an investment round led by venture capital investor Newion, with follow-on investments from existing investors Crane and Seedcamp. In June, Newion led a capital round of two million euros for the Ghent-based company TurnUp. Nopan supports account and wallet payment methods in Europe and hopes to further develop its technology with this new capital injection.

Scaling payment systems

Nopan was founded by former Netflix payment specialists Konstantin Surkov and Nick Ryabov. The company focuses on improving European account and wallet payments, enabling organizations via an API system to complete payments more efficiently, cheaply, and successfully.

As a member of the European Payments Initiative (EPI), Nopan helps scale and accelerate the adoption of, among others, the European payment system Wero. Wero is the successor to Payconiq, which is now available as a payment option in Belgian webshops.

In addition to the well-known payment method Wero, the Dutch scale-up also supports BLIK (Poland), Bizum (Spain), Satispay (Italy), and IRIS (Greece).

The investment raised will be used to accelerate international growth and further expand Nopan’s product offering. According to Surkov, the capital injection enables the company to make account and wallet payments accessible and reliable on a larger scale for businesses across Europe.
