A global survey shows that marketplaces are playing a vital role in the growth of IT vendors. Most vendors expect their sales through these channels to increase significantly over the next five years.
Pax8 presented the results of a new survey highlighting trends in digital sales within the channel. As many as 90 percent of IT vendors expect to increase sales through online marketplaces by 2029. The findings are based on a report by Channelnomics, which highlights how marketplaces not only provide scalable sales channels, but also enable the analysis of customer data to generate new revenue streams.
The benefits of marketplaces
More than a third of IT vendors already generate 20 percent of their revenue through marketplaces. According to the survey, 87 percent of vendors expect to increase their use of these platforms in the coming years. Especially in Europe and North America, where the digital infrastructure is well developed, the popularity of marketplaces has grown significantly.
Key benefits include reaching a wider audience with lower overhead costs and increasing profitability. In addition, marketplaces provide improved customer experience and sustainable growth, including upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
Data-driven decision-making
IT vendors also recognize the importance of data analytics. By analyzing sales and purchase history, companies can better address customer needs and optimize their sales strategies. Nearly half of respondents state that cost savings are central to developing their marketplace strategy, while a user-friendly platform is also considered critical to success.
According to the report, marketplaces play a key role in the future of IT sales, allowing companies to not only tap into new revenue streams, but also improve their customer experience and ensure long-term growth.
