Lenovo expands storage product offerings with Infinidat acquisition

Lenovo announces that it will acquire data center storage provider Infinidat for an undisclosed amount.

Lenovo announces the acquisition of Infinidat, provider of enterprise storage solutions. The acquisition strengthens Lenovo’s enterprise storage offerings. The acquisition gives Lenovo access to Infinidat’s technology and R&D capabilities. That should create synergies within Lenovo’s infrastructure solutions and enterprise storage business. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval.

Storage products

Lenovo already has a wide range of storage products, including flash and hybrid arrays, hyper-converged infrastructure and software-defined storage. Infinidat provides solutions for scalable and cyber-resistant data management and is known for its storage software development.

According to Greg Huff, Chief Technology Officer of Lenovo Infrastructure Solutions Group, the acquisition is consistent with Lenovo’s strategy to offer innovative storage solutions. He emphasized that Infinidat adds value to Lenovo’s storage portfolio and contributes to further innovation.

Phil Bullinger, CEO of Infinidat, sees the acquisition as an opportunity to expand his company’s global reach. He points to the strong performance and reliability of Infinidat’s solutions and expects the partnership with Lenovo to create new growth opportunities.

The acquisition is subject to regulatory approval. Financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.
