Xiaomi is releasing five new devices under the common name Redmi Note 15. The focus is on battery life and durability.

A day after sister brand Poco, it is Xiaomi’s turn to unveil a fresh batch of mid-range smartphones. The Chinese brand presents the Redmi Note 15 series, which consists of no fewer than five devices. These are, in random order: Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G, Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G, Redmi Note 15 Pro, Redmi Note 15 5G and Redmi Note 15 (without 5G).

According to the manufacturer, the devices should stand out in terms of their durability. Xiaomi even mentions Titan Durability. This translates into long battery life, enhanced drop resistance and improved protection against dust and water. Furthermore, the cameras and processor have also been tweaked.

Able to withstand a knock

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 models do not need to be handled with kid gloves. The models with ‘Pro’ in the name are certified for drop resistance from a height of up to 2.5 meters. The Pro+ model also has a fiberglass back panel for better shock absorption. With an IP66 and IP68 rating, they can in principle be submerged to a depth of 2 meters for up to 24 hours.

According to Xiaomi, durability means that your phone should last a long time. The Note 15 Pro+ has a 6500mAh battery with 100W charging capacity, which should be able to last up to two days. Even the cheapest model in the series has a 6000 mAh battery capacity. The smallest battery (5,250 mAh) is found in the Note 15 (with 5G), as this is the thinnest device in the series (7.35 mm).

Camera and performance

The two Pro models lead the series, not only because they have the larger screen (6.83 inches). They also feature a 200 MP main camera with a brand new image sensor. The camera supports up to 2x optical zoom and five focal lengths.

The main camera gets all the attention, because the 8 MP wide-angle camera plays a clearly subordinate role. The camera island looks identical to that of the latest Poco devices, and with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 15 series, we also count more lenses than cameras. The other devices get a 108 MP main camera with an equally meager wide-angle camera.

The Redmi Note 15 Pro+ 5G is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 processor, supplemented by an extra chip for more stable WiFi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity. The further down the ladder we go, the less powerful the processor becomes. The Note 15 (with 5G) is the only other one with a Qualcomm processor, because MediaTek provides the other three devices with a processor.
