Samsung launches a new Galaxy Z Flip phone with a larger cover screen. Additionally, it introduces a “cheaper” FE version for the first time.
Samsung launched its latest foldable phones yesterday. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is joined by two Z Flip 7 phones. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 launches in two versions this year with the introduction of an FE version.
The main adjustment is on the front. The 4.1-inch cover screen, originally dubbed FlexWindow by Samsung, now covers the entire front. Inside is a 6.9-inch main screen.

On the front screen, you can view notifications, read messages, take selfies, or use widgets without having to open the device. With a peak brightness of 2,600 nits and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, the screen should remain clearly visible outdoors.
Larger Battery
Samsung is also further improving the Z Flip’s battery. Battery life was a pain point with the first generations, as the “flip phone design” leaves less room for a large battery. The battery capacity of 4,300 mAh is the highest for a Z Flip device to date. According to Samsung, this allows you to play up to 31 hours of video on a full battery charge.

The Z Flip 7 features a 50 MP main camera and a 12 MP wide-angle camera. You can take self-portraits using the main camera via the cover screen while holding the phone in your hand. You can view and adjust the photos immediately.
The necessary AI references are not missing. Users can perform tasks via voice control on the cover screen. Gemini Live and the Now Brief menu from the S25 devices also make their appearance. The Z Flip 7 supports Samsung DeX for the first time for connecting to an external screen.
FE
Samsung is introducing an FE edition for the Z Flip 7 for the first time this year. The Z Flip 7 FE adopts many elements from the “regular” Z Flip 7 but is a few hundred euros cheaper. The main screen is slightly smaller at 6.7 inches.

The Galaxy Z Flip 7 will be available on July 22 with a recommended retail price of 1,199 euros. The Flip 7 FE costs 999 euros.
