Oppo adds the A5 Pro 5G to its budget-friendly A-line. With high water, dust, and drop resistance and emphasis on connectivity, this device is equipped to venture into the wide world.
Smartphone manufacturer Oppo launches a new device within the A-series, the A5 Pro 5G to be precise. The A-line of Oppo comes with fewer bells and whistles than the Find X and Reno models and settles itself in the budget segment. Oppo wants to ensure that you can fully enjoy sunny and less sunny days outdoors with this new phone. The device is built to provide a reliable user experience in all weather conditions.

Water and Drop Resistance
Budget phones typically skimp on build quality and sturdiness, but Oppo won’t hear of it with the A5 Pro 5G. The manufacturer slaps an IP69, IP68, and IP66 rating on the device for protection against water and dust. Oppo has made the device waterproof, literally. The housing contains silicone seals and a double protective layer to prevent water from entering the device. When used with wet fingers or in the rain, the screen remains operable according to Oppo, even when wearing gloves.
In addition to protection against water and dust, the device meets military certification for drop and shock resistance. The device has had to endure fourteen tests for, among other things, temperature fluctuations and fall impact. Double-hardened glass and an aluminum housing provide extra protection. So you can drop your phone from your hands or spill some water on it without having a heart attack.
Outdoor Use
To further emphasize outdoor use, Oppo focuses on connectivity. The A5 Pro 5G includes AI LinkBoost 2.0, BeaconLink, and a 360° antenna design for stable network connections. Without mobile coverage, the device remains interconnected via Bluetooth with a range of up to 205 meters. For those working outdoors, there’s an Outdoor Mode that adjusts settings for better network access and operation with gloves.

The device runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and has 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. The RAM memory is virtually expandable. Oppo claims that the processor and battery deliver stable performance for four years, partly thanks to the cooling system with graphite and thermal gel that limits heating during heavier use. The 5,800 mAh battery supports 45W fast charging (if you have a SuperVooc charger from the brand) and can charge up to 30 percent in 19 minutes.
Finally, there is a 50 MP main camera, complemented by AI functions such as AI Livephoto, underwater photography, and image editing tools. The Oppo A5 Pro 5G is available from April 11 for 279 euros in two colors: brown and olive green.
